For All Watercolor Classes , please bring the following material's:
Please have available: one pad of Strathmore, Arches or Fabriano 140 lb cold pressed watercolor paper -
Recommended sizes are @ 9 x 12 or 11 x 14
Paints:
I recommend using Winsor & Newton, Daniel Smith, Golden QOR watercolor paints
Please have available one small paint tube of each color of watercolor paints:
Permanent Alizarin Crimson (also known as Anthraquinoid Red) – a cool purplish red
Scarlet Lake (also known as vermillion) a warm red that leans to an orange/red
Winsor Blue (a green shade—also known as phthalo blue) – a cool blue with hints of green
French Ultramarine (a warmer purplish/ blue color)
Hansa Yellow (or Lemon Yellow) – a cool yellow
New Gamboge Yellow (a warm yellow with hints of orange)
BRUSHES for watercolors : 1 acrylic taklon round brush - my favorite sizes are 10,12 or 14
+ 1” wide flat brush
PALETTE: 1 white plastic palette with large mixing areas or any WHITE large- plastic or foam plate/tray suitable for mixing paints on.
WATER CONTAINERS: You will need : Two jars or plastic containers for water.
OTHER ITEMS: You may want to have some kind of table cover ie, plastic table sheet, table cloth, large trash bag anything to keep your paint area clean. Please bring a 4B (soft) drawing pencil and an eraser. "Friskit" also known as a resist , this product is used to save the whites on our paper - I recommend "Incredible white magic" Winsor & Newton also makes a friskit , make sure it is the removable friskit and not permanent.
