In If Palettes Could Talk, Elise Beattie and Lauren Urlacher bring together abstract water-media works and realistic floral paintings, letting color, line and pattern become the common thread and shared language between the two artists and their different styles of creativity. Elise’s paintings are filled with intuitive, design elements which serve as building blocks painted abstractly to tell her visual story. She creates a pattern driven image that speaks of the artist’s spirit and her world. Lauren’s flowers are carefully observed and rooted in the natural world. Her art is tied to the details that make flowers feel larger than life capturing the beauty of the way light moves across a bloom. Elise and Lauren’s abstract and floral approaches may look worlds apart, But, together, these artists create a dynamic show of color and composition, showing that two different artistic styles and subjects can  have plenty to say to each other.
