"BOOGIE WOOGIE BUGLE BOY"
Enjoy this new watercolor, sumi ink and acrylic painting created on a 22 x 17" watercolor paper.
Inspired by the music of the famous Andrew Sisters, who in 1941 became famous with their song of the same title.
Over and over again, I listened to the music of the great bands and crooners, who like the
Andrew sisters travelled with the likes of Bob Hope to entertain the war weary soldiers of WWll. As I listened , the story of this jute box and the dancer developed before my eyes as she swayed to the music.

" SENSORY PERCEPTION"
As and artist, I feel it is important to experiment with subject matter and technique. In this painting I was inspired by one of my students painting in our local park. But, when painting this piece I decided to explore experimenting with sumi ink in combination with traditional watercolor techniques.
The adventureous technique I used is called suminagashi. It is an ancient form of paper marbling that uses sumi ink and creates wonderful black and white patterns and shapes. In this painting I began by first using "suminagashi" on my 140lb watercolor paper, which was followed by pouring a variety of transparent watercolors. My final steps included using fluid acrylics to "tie together" my story about being inspired by Duncan Park at Manito Gardens.
This water media painting measures 22 x 17 and was created on 300lb watercolor paper.
Please contact the artist if you are interested in purchasing this painting either framed or unframed as you desire.

"FLUIDITY OF UNIVERSAL TIME"
This painting is the third in my series of "Universe" Paintings. It has been created using poured watercolors, fluid acrylics and paper collage.
In this painting I once again look to retreat into my imagination and examine time and our universe through the lens of my “mind’s eye” . For this painting I examine not only what I imagine the celestial world looks like but also the concept of time. With a little help from Salvador Dali, I conclude that our interpretation of time is relative to our uniquely different fluid views.
