"PORTALS TO ALTERNATE UNIVERSES"
New for 2023 is a painting that is part of my "universe" series begun in 2021.
This painting is 22 x 17 poured watercolor, fluid acrylics and paper collage.
I have always been intrigued by the stars and planets that I see in the sky. The beauty of our universe inspires me. Painting with my mind's eye, I have been creating interpretative visions of what the universe may be like. Join me and lets open a doorway , step through and see who is travelling and where we end up.

"Homeward Bound" is a 17 x 22 transparent watercolor painted on 140lb watercolor paper. This painting was inspired by a trip, that I took last year, to visit Natchez, MS. While walking the back streets of this picturesque town I came upon this stairway. The setting sun and cast shadows of the Victorian home inspired me and I knew that I would have to create a painting based upon the photos that I snapped on this afternoon. NFS

"Ghost Story,
Chapter 1- Swinging from past to present"
17 x 22 watercolor and fluid acrylics
While travelling through the Town of Natchez, MS I came upon one of the finest antebellum homes of this town. Known now as the Monmouth Inn.
In creating this work of art, my goal was to capture the essence of how our pasts interconnect with the present. I tasked my self to create a "story" that would capture the beautiful architecture, while telling a tale about long ago. I wondered , as I stood before this building if previous tenants continued to walk the grounds . Were they enjoying the landscape that was created when they were alive, as much as I was admiring the now towering trees planted in the past and still standing in my present.
Does the past swing into the present? I think it does...

"DENDROBIUM IN PINK" is a transparent wc painting created on 140lb CP Arches paper.
Every year for 5 years this beautiful orchid has sat in a bowl of water and given me these gorgeous pink blooms. I have painted it using acrylics. But this spring, I wanted to do something a little different. So, I decided to use only watercolors and I snapped a picture of the flower looking down on it. I liked the abstracted look of this photo and decided I should try creating a work from this image.

"Keeva and Finnegan"
This 17 x 22 watercolor and fluid acrylics painting was created as a special commission for clients , as a gift.
Featured are my friends two border collies as they looked when these twins were puppies.
It is a wonderful pleasure for me , as an artist to be able to create a painting that captures the beauty and special personality of two animals who share a special bond.
I especially enjoyed spending many hours closely examining these beautiful dog's faces for clues as to their personality. Painting their shiny coats was a wonderful opportunity to be abstract with painterly techniques to create the looks of a collie's fur.
I love creating paintings of animals, especially dogs and horses. If you would be interested in commissioning a special painting inspired by your pets and their life , I invite you to contact me. I would be happy to create a work of art that will both inspire and make you smile!
