FOR ALL ACRYLIC PAINTING CLASSES
Please bring one pad Strathmore, Arches or Fabriano 140 lb cold pressed watercolor paper ( most of art will be done on paper) But if you want to work on a canvas also please have available a couple of 8 x 10 canvases as this will be the same size as the photo printouts listed on line.
PAINT COLORS:
ACRYLICS: please bring the following colors of acrylic paints
I recommend using GOLDEN FLUID or SPOKANE ART SUPPLY'S PRIVATE LABEL
ACRYLIC PAINTS but any other quality acrylic tube paint works well such as Liquitex .
Quinacridrone Crimson (also known as Anthraquinoid Red) – a cool red
Pyrrole red (a warm red)
Pthalo Blue (a green shade—also known as phthalo blue) – a cool blue
French Ultramarine (a warmer blue color)
Hansa Yellow (or Lemon Yellow) – a cool yellow
Diarylide Yellow (a warm yellow)
Titanium White
Carbon Black
BRUSHES FOR ACRYLICS : 1 acrylic taklon round brush - my favorite sizes are 10,12 or 14
+ 1” wide flat brush
MEDIUMS: for all acrylic classes please bring one jar of Matte or Gloss Medium - I recommend using Golden mediums but there are other brands such as Liquitex available.
PALETTE: 1 plastic palette with large mixing areas. I recommend the Mastersons Palette or any WHITE large- plastic or foam plate/tray suitable for mixing paints on.
WATER CONTAINERS: You will need : Two jars or plastic containers for water.
OTHER ITEMS: You may want to have available. Some kind of table cover ie, plastic table sheet, table cloth, large trash bag anything to keep your paint area clean. Please bring a 4B (soft) drawing pencil and an eraser.
